They did at Yeovilton on Saturday last Saturday. In fact a clip of the celebrations was broadcasted later on
Mercifully on a large grass area a good 500m away from the crowdline or anything aircraft related.
I doubt RIAT has that luxury of empty space.

However, people complaining about sport at an airshow you probably need to remember this forum if a self-selecting sample. It makes up hardcore air enthusiasts in the main. However, this demographic makes up a tiny tiny percentage of the actual people through the gates on a given day. Most are semi interested or just going as a one off take-the-family day event and aren't overly interested in the details and all out flying. These people will want the world cup and potentially may not attend if its not available.

The number of people at Yeovilton who just sat in their tents on the crowdline reading books and watching iPlayer whilst constantly ignoring the majority of flying was amazing. Some came, saw the red arrows went "ive seen the reds now, i can go home".

Personally id rather the football wasn't on free TV at all. Any football, not just the world cup but i realise in the UK im in a minority there!

If football is so important, stay at home and make more room for aviation enthusiasts at an AIR show.
I guessed there would be one .... :grr:

Why go to an AIR show, and watch football.

If you were at the theatre or cinema and the match was on, would you watch it?

You can RECORD it and watch later - I did this with the British GP as we had visitors.

Did anyone see England have a chance on the final when they booked tickets for the show?
How many Grand Prix's how many World Cup finals ?
If you have no interest if football , why read thread on the 'World Cup ' ??

I suspect that if England do make it to the final it will be shown on a screen somewhere on the site.
It is a once in a lifetime event & as stated many of the paying public will want to see it & I can see the organizers getting bombarded with complaints if it's not shown.

As long as they don't interrupt the flying display for it that's fine by me.

Don't expect to be able to get onto the mobile network to stream it though.

Definitely would not be a once in a life time event, watched a good England team win in 1966. Hopefully there will be something more entertaining on an alternative channel :grr:

Bound to be some French spotters who want to watch the match.

I will volunteer to pull the plug out after 5 minutes!
