USAF bomber, quite possibly a B-2, has a GPM scheduled for tomorrow.

I overheard one of the B_52 crew talking to a RIAT staffer about a B-2 flypast on Sunday. I thought I had misheard so asked him directly and he confirmed a B-2 flypast for Sunday (but not Saturday). Why he should know, I have no idea.

Only time will tell if this turns out to be true - I'm just reporting the conversation I had.

No last minute U-2 display items this weekend, I saw them being mentioned online. RIAT requested one - the right combination of jet, instructor pilot and kit are all at Fairford to support one but Beale/US said no. Their departure plans are still TBC but their aim is to leave outside of RIAT tower opening hours when they do leave. Their display was going to be a take off and then three circuits with the low slow (70kts) pass, a simulated flameout (high flap) pass and a "fast" (210kts) pass, then a landing.

They said tickets should be available on Monday on the gate but not guaranteed...again could be they just wanted people to buy tickets today for Monday.

Some great arrivals today, particularly the SU27's. Shame the T'Birds did most of their display off the field!
The web site is saying Monday is sold out ONLINE and only available on the gate - which is what you want really.

I'd say you can be very comfortable that if a B-52 crew knows about it then it's planned. The question is whether or not B-2s are cleared to do flybys with cloud at 1,200ft or whether it'll just continue with its GPM......
Oh I misread your post - why would they only come for the Sunday.....?

Whilst i do not disbelieve them, i wouldn't say a completely seperate squadron would be a reliable source for that kind of information.

I would have thought they would have preferred a Saturday flypast given it's usually be busiest day. The AR20 (NE) booking for Sunday may be part of a large GPM so may a Saturday flypast could potentially still be on the cards??

Went yesterday & really enjoyed it. Formation flypast of the Red's & the Thunderbirds was :Wow: Shame one of the Thunderbirds I believe had an issue, as T5 was on his own . Never the less a great day. Glad to see the BBMF Lanc back in the Air. The weather improved during the day I got sunburnt arms & my 19 year old looks like a Lobster & is suffering this morning(he was offered Factor 50 & a Hat but said he would be fine  ). Walking back to the car the B52 guys took down the Barrier & allowed you to get hands on with the BUFF even to look inside the Bomb Bay. No Traffic que's at all straight in & out.

I thought the B-2 flyby was more than a rumour and old news? Or are we expecting another one?
