It states we can reveal some of the special flypasts so I would expect one or two surprise items!
It is what it is, I’ll be happy just to go to the show as will most.
However compared to the last show which had such a great mix of aircraft I can’t help but feel let down after waiting such a long time.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion!
I appreciate some great types at the 2019 show such as the Spanish EAV-8Bs, Romanian MiG21s and Ukrainian Su27s.

However in service different military types on show in 2019 including supports - 58
Currently listed/expected including supports 2022 - 64

Number of nations attended 2019 - 23 (includes Luxembourg and Hungary)
Number of nations currently listed for 2022 -34 (includes Luxembourg)

Statistically a greater mix this year than in 2019. 2022 boasts 17 UK show debuts and one new nation plus some great civilian types such as the A-4 and Swedish jets.
I remember 2019 the Sunday flying was done by around 4. Looks like this year its going to be can they fit it all in

I too am incredibly disappointed that the Iranian F-14's are not attending this year. :P

All in all another fantastic RIAT this year I hope everyone enjoys it. A cracking line up one of the best static displays dare I say post 2000. Well done DBH. Now time to clear the SD cards and charge the batteries. :thumb:

With the final update, this is how things stand.

Absolutely fantastic work by Peter and the team at DBH. Getting an international show with this much participation as we come out of Covid, as well as in a situation with a war going on in Europe is an outstanding achievement.

Text in Red has been confirmed by operator but not by DBH

I remember a few months back just after Russia had invaded Ukraine and I asked someone on here why they thought the airshow would not go ahead and the answer I got was "do I need to spell it out for you"

Well guess what? RIAT is going ahead!!! :Wow: :Wow:

Like I said back then since the 80s there has been Falklands war, Gulf war, Balkans war, 2nd Gulf war, 20 years in Afghanistan, you can also throw in air policing and Northern Ireland and guess what? Airshows still went ahead then and RIAT will go ahead next week!!! :D

I take it that the Czech Alca and Gripen are not coming seeing as there was no mention of them in any of the last updates?

I think them confirming the Alca for static the other week was them saying we don't have them but here is this instead, Shame as the Alca puts on a great display.

No matter what it's a great line up this year roll on next week!! :D :D :D

It tells you on the website under confirmed aircraft just click into each one and its says what day they will be on display for both flying and static.

If they arrive before Friday they usually do a rehearsal on 1 of the arrivals days.

Obviously it's anyone's guess but I can't imagine they'll want it hanging around at Fairford for too long - so I wouldn't be surprised by a late Thursday or even Friday arrival. Star of the show for me too :)
