Brilliant support from the Belgians as always  Just a shame the RAF didn't return the favour at Kleine Brogel last year :(

The potential patch haul for me is already starting to add up with the handful of participants already announced at RIAT

Update 19th March, and early
Whilst we are aware The Ramex Delta Tactical Display team and a number of other teams have announced on social media that they will be attending the Air Tattoo this summer, we await official confirmation.

The Royal Air Force has confirmed much of its participation in RIAT 2015. For the flying display are scheduled the the Red Arrows, the new two-ship Hawk T2 role demo making its public airshow debut, the solo Typhoon FGR4, the 'synchro pair' routine involving a Typhoon and a Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire being staged as part of the Battle of Britain 75th anniversary commemorations, and the BBMF's Lancaster, this in addition to the flight's six fighters already confirmed. A number of RAF types are joining the static display, among them a Sea King in its final full year of service, and a No XV(R) Squadron Tornado GR4 in that unit's centenary year. For the full list, see the 'Confirmed Aircraft' page. Other RAF involvement is still in discussion.

A welcome return to the Air Tattoo this year for the Spanish Air Force's Patrulla Aguila aerobatic team of seven CASA C-101 Aviojets. 2015 marks the Aguila's 30th anniversary, the team having been formed by the Spanish Air Force Academy for an inaugural display on 4 June 1985.

Fantastic news comes from the Finnish Air Force that it will be providing RIAT 2015 with its F/A-18C Hornet solo display. Always an extremely impressive fast jet routine, this is an item not seen at the Air Tattoo since 2009. Details of the operating unit are not yet confirmed.

We have received confirmation that a senior representative from the Czech Air Force has accepted our invitation to attend RIAT 2015.

A Royal Danish Air Force CL604 Challenger VIP transport and surveillance aircraft from Eskadrille 721 at Aalborg will be on static display in the Showground. The RDAF operates three in total.

LATEST UPDATE: 02/04/15

Most of the warbirds taking part in our Battle of Britain commemoration have now been confirmed. Aside from the two Hurricanes and four Spitfires of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, these will comprise the Aircraft Restoration Company's Blenheim and Buchón, three other Hurricanes (from Peter Vacher, the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar and the Hangar 11 Collection), seven further Spitfires (the two Aircraft Restoration Company-operated MkIas, the Biggin Hill Heritage Hangar's MkVc and two MkIXs, the Old Flying Machine Company's MkIX and Rolls-Royce's PRXIX) and Kennet Aviation's Seafire. Watch this space for further additions, still to be finalised.

The Slovenian Air Force is due to make its first Air Tattoo appearance for several years. It will provide two Pilatus PC-9Ms, one each for the static and flying displays, and a single L-410UVP-E Turbolet light transport for the static park.

We've been speaking to the Joint Helicopter Command about the aircraft they plan to send to RIAT 2015 and have been told to expect news of our allocation soon.
It's warming up on the European air arms front and we anticipate hearing positive news from a number of them over the coming weeks.

Hope I am wrong, but the Qatari C-130J could easily fall off the list given operations to support Operation Decisive Storm.

Today's update is ongoing
The Swedish Air Force is sending a JAS 39C Gripen multi-role jet to take part in the RIAT 2015 flying programme. Visitors will be able to get a close look at the aircraft as there will also be a Swedish JAS 39C/D Gripen on static display in the Showground.

An impressive selection of aircraft has been earmarked for RIAT 2015 by the Royal Netherlands Air Force. A spectacularly aerobatic flying display will be given by its Apache Demo Team, flying an AH-64D from 301 Squadron of the Dutch Defence Helicopter Command at Gilze-Rijen. The heavy aircraft contingent of the static park is due to be bolstered by a C-130 Hercules airlifter and a KDC-10 tanker/transport; the Dutch air arm is also contributing a CH-47D/F Chinook heavy-lift helicopter and a Dornier Do-228, the latter used by the country's Coastguard, to the static display.

The E-3A Component of the NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force (NAEW&CF) is planning to send an E-3A Sentry from its base at Geilenkirchen to take part in the RIAT 2015 static display. This is one of 17 such AWACS platforms operated by the multi-national unit, whose aircrews are provided by 15 of NATO's member states.

No 3 Squadron of the Royal Jordanian Air Force, a contributor to the show for many years, will be providing a C-130H Hercules to RIAT 2015. Part of the RJAF's Air Lift Wing and stationed at King Abdullah Air Base in the capital city Amman, No 3 Squadron operates the C295 alongside its Hercules fleet, which currently numbers seven aircraft. It is anticipated that the aircraft will, as usual, bring an impressive exhibition promoting Jordan as a tourist destination.

We are very pleased to welcome the Czech Air Force back to the RIAT flying display for the first time in some years. It will provide typically excellent solo demonstrations of the JAS 39C Gripen and the Mil Mi-24V or Mi-35 'Hind', very appropriately given the involvement of Czechoslovak pilots in the Battle of Britain, the 75th anniversary of which we are commemorating at RIAT 2015. The 'Hind' has not been demonstrated in flight at the Air Tattoo since 2007. The Czech contingent will also include an L-159 ALCA (Advanced Light Combat Aircraft) and a C295 transport in the static park.

Today's update 23rd April
Following our initial update last week, we can confirm officially the attendance at RIAT 2015 of the French Air Force's Ramex Delta tactical demonstration team of two Mirage 2000Ns from Escadron de Chasse 2/4 'Lafayette' at Istres. This will be Ramex Delta's long-awaited debut British outing, and the first Mirage 2000 flying appearance at the show since RIAT 2010's Battle of Britain commemoration. Not since 2006 has the Air Tattoo witnessed any form of full display involving this outstanding delta-winged combat aircraft.

We are awaiting official notification from Belgium, Poland and Germany regarding the aircraft they plan to send to RIAT 2015. As soon as we have received confirmation we will release the information.

The French Air Force's national aerobatic team, the Patrouille de France, will be attending RIAT 2015. Its display formation of eight Alpha Jet E trainers will add further to the military display team contingent present at the show, and help salute the role played by French pilots during the Battle of Britain.

The Slovak Air Force will attend its first Air Tattoo for three years when it provides an L-39CM Albatros jet trainer and L-410UVP-T Turbolet for the RIAT 2015 static park. The L-39 is scheduled to be the example bearing an image of Slovak-born wartime RAF fighter pilot Sqn Ldr Otto Smik DFC on its tail fin.

The Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy has confirmed four aircraft for the RIAT 2015 static display. On the fixed-wing side will be a King Air 350ER Avenger observer trainer from 750 Naval Air Squadron; three helicopter contributions will comprise an 814 NAS Merlin, a Sea King ASaC7 airborne surveillance platform and, for the last time at the show before retirement, a search and rescue Sea King HU5 operated by 771 Naval Air Squadron. All will be part of the show's 'Securing the Skies: Past, Present and Future' theme, highlighting the Royal Navy's contribution to the security of our shores.

The Douglas DC-3 operated by the Super Constellation Flyers Association and sponsored by chronograph company Breitling will attend RIAT 2015 as part of the static display. The 1940-built aircraft, immaculate in Breitling colours, was bought by its present owner in 2009.

An increase in operational tempo has been cited by the Swedish Air Force after it announced it was unfortunately withdrawing its SAAB JAS-39C Gripen from the RIAT flying display and its SAAB JAS-39D Gripen from the static park.
