Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
As well as the Swedish Gripen, it seems the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight is in negotiations with RIAT. Participation could include any or all of Draken, Viggen, Tunnan, Hunter and Vampire. How to persuade the RIAT organisers to sign them up at all costs?

Chances of that happening are slim, I'm afraid.

Already been ruled out by RIAT Ops on UKAR a while ago. They had no idea about the listing and had 0 discussions with them.smorton wrote:As well as the Swedish Gripen, it seems the Swedish Air Force Historic Flight is in negotiations with RIAT. I can't help but feel we need more USAF aircraft, surely there will be something else in the pipeline?
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
It's April for Christ's sake.

Nice update! Great to see the little Saab back at RIAT. Hopefully it's still got last years paint scheme.
Wouldn't worry too much about static, still early doors and you never fully know until the show.
This year has the makings of a vintage year and I think DBH have got a few BIG surprises to announce.
I'm sure I read somewhere that the RAF have been working closely with Pakistan recently and the PAF have been amber for quite some time on RIAT lists (as I've previously mentioned) so wouldn't be surprised if we saw an F-16 or JF-17 from them this year!
I could be looking too much into it but I do believe we could get something special from Asia/Asia Pacific region.

I'd like to see an Indian Jaguar (if they still have them) as I've never seen one fly.Voodoo1 wrote:Nice update! Great to see the little Saab back at RIAT. Hopefully it's still got last years paint scheme.

What's wrong with the Breitling jet team? (I've never seen them)
How about a 4 ship Breitling wing walkers instead? lovely sound from those Boeing Stearman aircraft

Oh yeah, Sorry for expressing my opinion again. A privately funded jet display team will always get my vote.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2017 Discussion Thread
They're not the most exciting display team if I'm honest. I suppose they're the jet display version of the RJF however I'd rather watch the Falcons (and that is debatable!).peasus911 wrote:Oh yeah, Sorry for expressing my opinion again. A privately funded jet display team will always get my vote.
Again these are another civil team that are supported by big money sponsors of RIAT so they get to display (even though it's meant to be a military show - these teams still come!) Hence the forever rising arguments of SwHF and Sea Vixen.
