Re: RIAT 2014 - News and updates here please
NIce to see the A400, but still sooooo thin on the ground.
Shame the Midair aren't flying, but will be great to see them up close and personal.

Agree with Dunk, seems like we are missing the mass of heavy's this year in the Static park
Re: RIAT 2014 - News and updates here please
The 15+ aircraft the US have sent in recent years (pre sequestration) certainly make a difference to the static park. I am surprised by the lack of info regarding the US participation. Fingers crossed one of the US services are planning on sending something and DBH are holding the announcement back or they are saving them for surprise on arrivals day like the A-10s a few years ago.

Returning to RIAT for what promises to be another impressive demonstration of agility from a large aircraft is the Airbus A400M Atlas. The twin-turboprop airlifter will appear in the flying display crewed by test pilots from manufacturer Airbus Defence and Space.

Flying prevails whenever a man and his airplane are put to a test of maximum performance.

Re: RIAT 2014 - News and updates here please
Don't quote me on this but I'm sure I heard on a radio ad today that the F35 Lightning (we all know about) & a Harrier are both appearing.
Ad heard on Jack FM this evening about 18:30 ish, wasn't really paying full attention as busy traffic on the A34.
Can't find any other info to confirm though
Hmm seems its farnborough & it's a spanish navy sea harrier

This will be amazing if it's true!!!
Re: RIAT 2014 - News and updates here please
According to the BAE website there will be a Hawk T2 on static, but as usual in the restricted access bit so the average person will see it from the distance

i heard that spanish harrier and f-35 flying together at farnborough and the raf f-35 flying at riat with the red arrows but dont hold me to that..
Correct Andy.
I however say that the Spanish Sea Harrier will not be at Fairford or Farnborough.

•We can now confirm that due to an overwhelming response from invited air arms and operators, our flying display on Saturday & Sunday has been extended and will now start at 9.45 and finish at 6.00pm (over 8 hours!). Our Saturday and Sunday flying display has previously been advertised as running from 10am - 5.30pm so please arrive early so as not to miss the first displays!
•The giant jigsaw that is the flying display has now been completed and on our Aircraft Confirmed page we have a clever new function that shows which aircraft are flying on Friday as well as Saturday/Sunday. You can see the Friday flying participants here.
•It will be good to welcome the Portuguese Air Force back to RIAT 2014, and once again with a rare aeroplane - a C295 from Esquadra 502 'Elefantes' at Montijo. It will be displayed in the static park.
•We have had great news that the Polish Air Force is sending a second SU22 for the flying display, we have another F16 for the static display from the Royal Danish Air Force and the Swiss Air Force are sending another Super Puma for static display which joins the one we already have in the flying display. This is also the case for the J105Oe from Austrian Air Force as we add a static aircraft to the J105Oe already confirmed as flying.
•The UK Met Office 'High Altitude Flight' BAe 146 from the National Centre for Atmospheric Science will be joining us again on static display following a very successful visit in 2012.
