I was discussing this show with a fellow FCer last night. We agreed that in 'the good old days', upwards of 450 aircraft were on the field. I won't even attempt to list the types. It's why us oldies have trouble understanding the almost orgasmic enthusiasm that is greeted by some reasonably ordinary fare, and this post will go a long way in understanding why many of us will go to Flying Legends instead. Hope it works for you youngsters, tho', but if some of us more senior Airshow types attended Fairford, we would just sit there crying into our Mountain Dew etc....

Yes I bet flying legends will be packing in 450+ aircraft.........

I'm still thankful we have a great show to attend every year which is by far the best for variety & size in Europe & for a great cause might I add! The BAE Systems Collection features in a special static showcase by the aerospace giant and comprise a Scottish Aviation Bulldog T.1, DHC-1 Chipmunk, Blackburn B2, DH-60 Cirrus Moth, Bristol Scout, Sea Hurricane 1B and Avro Anson C.19.
