they come later.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
Responding to earlier discussion regarding the disbandment of 'Couteau Delta', I think the 'newish' FAF Team 'Vautour Bravo' could be a good inclusion flying a pair of Rafale jets. Unless of course they have a newer iteration, even though their appearances since 2020 have been minimal due to the persistent Covid issues!
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
With the addition of the F-86 Sabre I was just thinking of other USAF classic jet fighters that are airworthy In Europe. A certain CF-104D does come to mind. Although the chances are probably slim it would be a amazing to have a Starfighter on static at RIAT again.

I dont think the CF-104 is allowed to leave the country unfortunately.
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
I believe the 104 in Norway is still grounded due to the ongoing issue with the time expired ejector seats. Haven't seen any team 637 news for a while now regarding solving the problem.

Ive just had a thought.. Imagine if the us navy brought the f18 from the topgun movie.
Mavericks f18 super hornet. Now that would be worth the ticket price alone imo.

Would love the 3 historic helicopters to be at RIAT even on static, Would be great to see the Whirlwind, Wessex and Sea King all lined up together side by side.

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2022 - General Discussion Thread
We are extremely thankful for the support from the Czech Air Force, sending us a myriad of rarely seen aircraft for display at RIAT 2022! Their Hind & Hip will perform a pairs flying display simulating a combat search and rescue mission, a display never before seen at RIAT.
In addition, we're delighted to have a solo display from their W-3 Sokol helicopter, which will be the first time we've welcomed that aircraft type to the Air Tattoo in nearly 20 years.
In addition, the Czech Air Force hope to send examples of their Gripen & ALCA for the flying display at RIAT, however due to their operational tempo and deployment on NATO Air Policing missions, they will not be able to fully confirm the attendance of these assets until closer to the event, so we will not be including them on our participating aircraft list for now.
We're pleased to welcome the Estonian Air Force back to Fairford, with a new aircraft type: the M28 Skytruck. This aircraft replaced the venerabe Antonov An-2 which we have seen at Fairford in previous years.
Finally, more additions to the static aircraft displays from civilian operators, with a Spitfire in USAAF markings, unique Trago Mills training aircraft and newly repainted Piaggio P.166!

What an absolutely amazing update today

Amazing support from the Czech Airforce if all of them arrive as stated due to air policing.
The Spitfire in USAAF colours will look magnificent cannot wait to see that.
