The boys from Brazil are reportedly looking to bring the KC390 to F'boro. Might they look at RIAT too to show case the jet?
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2016 Discussion Thread
Turkish F-16 likely too. Belgian F-16 displaying this year?
F-18 is down to attend Farnborough too, so might be poached. Fast jets galore.

Unfortunately no KC-390 at Fairford, despite several people telling their PR people they would be bonkers not to. Apparently the marketing bods know better and an international debut at Farnborough it is...KINROTATE wrote:The boys from Brazil are reportedly looking to bring the KC390 to F'boro. You want the Aladeen news, or the Aladeen news?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2016 Discussion Thread
Any thoughts for tomorrow's update folks?
So far unconfirmed but seem to be floating around are:
Dutch Apache Demo Team
Soloturk F-16
Apache Helicopter Display Team
Spanish EF-200 (on tarmac or in the air!)
Maybe something big for the static park?

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2016 Discussion Thread
The Hungarian's are still unconfirmed by DBH. They are meant to be bringing 1x Jas-39 Gripen and 1x An-26
Hopefully tomorrow we might have the Belgian's confirm. Last year they confirmed in late April so should be soon
2016 is their 70th anniversary, so could mean some colour.
The FRIAT forum is in 10 days so might get something juicy then

There appears to have been some form of press event at RAF Fairford today. A post on the RAF Fairford/Brize Spotters Facebook group by Chris Roberts Mbe, says Andy Armstrong mentioned "one more debut nation appearing at the Show, whose identity will be revealed shortly"
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2016 Discussion Thread
Interesting! I mentioned last year an article I read in the Daily Mail regarding the all female Bayi Aerobatic Team from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) that RIAT had invited and was a possibility in 2015 if the country accepted. Never came to fruition but they were due to debut at the Moscow show.Gary wrote:There appears to have been some form of press event at RAF Fairford today. Therefore did RIAT get their wish this year and could we see the J-10 on UK soil?
Here's the article from March 2015

Probably me wishing again but this would be something special to add to what is fast becoming a great show.

Great update
Looking forward to the HH-101
Hopefully the Falcon DA20 ECM will be in a better static spot than Leuchars gave it a few years ago
http://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/visiti ... st-updatesrare visitor to the RIAT static park will be a Dassault Falcon DA20 ECM from 717 Squadron, Royal Norwegian Air Force. It is one of three such electronic countermeasures, calibration and VIP transport aircraft stationed with the unit at Gardermoen.
Excellent support is being provided to the RIAT 2016 flying display by the Italian Air Force. The hugely popular Frecce Tricolori aerobatic team, flying Aermacchi AT-339A (MB339 PAN) jet trainers returns, as does the solo Eurofighter F-2000A Typhoon display from the Reparto Sperimentale Volo flight test centre; the latter unit also provides an AgustaWestland HH-101A Caesar combat search and rescue helicopter for its British flying display debut. Another Italian Typhoon will be on show in the static park.

So many awesome unconfirmed participants around. If they all get confirmed it's going to be probably the biggest jetfest since the early 00s!
Awesome update today from the Italians.
Still waiting on those heavies though. Need a good static park too!

This website was mentioned earlier in the thread by another member because they had Team Orlik on for RIAT 2016. Again, not sure how reliable this source is but they now have the Polish F-16 Demo Team up as flying at RIAT.

Todays update -
Germany's three military air arms are between them providing no fewer than 13 aircraft for the 2016 Air Tattoo. The air force, the Luftwaffe, is scheduled to bring an in-service Airbus A400M for the first time, joined in the static display by its predecessor, a Transall C-160D, plus an Airbus A310 Multi-Role Tanker-Transport, four Eurofighter EF2000s (one from each Luftwaffe wing operating the type) and a Panavia Tornado. The German Army reprises its award-winning MBB Bo 105P helicopter display from last year, and sends a second example for the static park. Also on static display are three German Navy aircraft - a Lockheed P-3C Orion, a Dornier 228, and an Airbus EC135 training helicopter.
Textron Aviation will again bring a number of interesting special missions aircraft from its product range to the Air Tattoo this year. For the third year running, the Textron AirLand Scorpion tactical jet is due to appear, accompanied by a Beechcraft AT-6B Wolverine light attack aircraft, a Beechcraft King Air 350 special missions platform, and a Cessna 208 Caravan special missions aircraft. All will be part of the showcase section of the RIAT 2016 static display.
