Great update and credit to the Italians turning up mob handed .
Italian Typhoon looked epic from the "Freeloading" Rhymes campsite too, which reminds me,I should probably book into a hotel this year as I don't want to get any flack for my sleeping arrangements.

Quite frankly with the levels of participation coming down and the prices going up Totterdown would be the place to go for anyone with any sense..

Credit must go to the Italian's though, amazing support yet again.

all we need now is some Austrian Typhoons to add to that.... if I'm lucky. Cracking support from the Italians.

Thread tidied - read the title - News and updates - no wish lists, speculation or camping news!

If you wish to speculate on possible participants or discuss the best and cheapest options for watching the aircraft then please seek an alternative thread, or start one.

Thanks.

Great Support from the Italians- well done to them and the team at DBH

There will be NO SWAFHF This year, they are only doing Waddington with the Viggen and Draken.

I am thinking that the Gripen and Dutch and/or Turkish F-16 will confirm.

today's update 10th April
Two F-16 MLUs from 338 Skvadron at Ørland will be joining the Royal International Air Tattoo's celebration of the Fighting Falcon's 40th anniversary on static display. Not only is Norway one of the longest-standing F-16 operators, but it was also one of the first countries to throw its weight behind the Air Tattoo when it was founded at North Weald in 1971. Very appropriate, therefore, to see the Norwegians back for Tim Prince's last show in charge.

The UK's tri-service Joint Helicopter Command is to send seven helicopters to RIAT 2014. Taking part in the flying display will be the ever-spectacular RAF Chinook, along with an Army Air Corps Apache and Lynx AH7. The static display is due to include a Puma and Merlin from the RAF, plus an increasingly seldom-seen Gazelle and rare Bell 212 from the AAC.

We are aware of the tweet made by the Swedish Air Force 'Gripen Solo Display' stating 'Anyone else heading for RIAT Airshow? I am.' Well, all we can say at this stage is that he won't be if he doesn't secure his admission ticket in advance! :0)

We have received notification that a senior military delegation from the US Marine Corps will be among the guests attending this summer's Air Tattoo.

Royal Norwegian Air Force
F-16AM/BM (x2) 338 Skvadron Fighter Aircraft

Army Air Corps
Aerospatiale Gazelle AH.1 TBC Helicopter Static
Bell 212 671 Squadron Helicopter Static
Westland Lynx AH.7 TBC Helicopter Flying
Westland WAH-64D Apache 3 Regiment Helicopter Flying

Royal Air Force
Airbus Puma HC.2 TBC Helicopter Static
AW Merlin HC.3/3A TBC Helicopter Static
Boeing Chinook HC.2/2A 27 Squadron Helicopter Flying

Another solid update from DBH :thumb:

The show is starting to look better than last year already.

Would the attendance of a 'senior military delegation' from the Marine Corps add weight to the possible F-35B appearance stories?

Just a thought. :ninja:

Not a bad update but i think Waddo tops it this week. I hope its not the whole 'doesnt suit who we're aiming for' line again with regards to the Swedish HF..

I must be the only one sort of glad the Swedish HF isn't doing RIAT (potentially), if they did what would be worth travelling to Waddington or Yeovil for?

Seem's slightly silly that people want the same aircraft at all 3 or 4 major airshows - YAWN!
