Are the Americans coming!!
Are the Americans coming!!
Do we think the USAF, Marines, USN etc will be attending RIAT this year?
If you can keep your head whilst all around are losing theirs, you have probably completely misread the situation!!
Re: Are the Americans coming!!
Personally after last year I'd be happy with a Lakenheath Eagle and 1 of each from Mildenhall to go with the Super Hornet, anything stateside would be a complete bonus.

Re: Are the Americans coming!!
There will no participation from USAFE, both RIAT and the DOD have already confirmed this.

Re: Are the Americans coming!!
As far as I know RIAT only confirmed that the USAREUR (US Army Europe) and the Pacific Air Forces (Hawaii) are unable to attend. Nothing about USAFE known at this time.seven wrote:There will no participation from USAFE, both RIAT and the DOD have already confirmed this.
Re: Are the Americans coming!!
I presume like in previous years (2004 from memory, and others) the only reason they have got a Super Hornet is because its Farnborough this year.

Re: Are the Americans coming!!
Makes sense for the Super Hornet to attend as its Farnborough the following week as its a company aircraft flown by their own flight test crew.

It will be a US Navy aircraft flown by a company pilot.Ravendriver2008 wrote:Makes sense for the Super Hornet to attend as its Farnborough the following week as its a company aircraft flown by their own flight test crew.

Re: Are the Americans coming!!
The Bugs are over for Farnborough and a European sales pitch, lucky timing for RIAT although Boeing are a long term supporter of RIAT it should be said.

Erm, no they haven't, not in the slightest....seven wrote:There will no participation from USAFE, both RIAT and the DOD have already confirmed this.
Re: Are the Americans coming!!
Having just spoken to a RIAT staff member they cannot confirm USAF, USAFE, USMC, USN attendance or non attendance, too early, so let's all keep things crossed.antal wrote:As far as I know RIAT only confirmed that the USAREUR (US Army Europe) and the Pacific Air Forces (Hawaii) are unable to attend. It will still be a superb event whatever the outcome..
Cheers

But the US Navy has confirmed

Flying prevails whenever a man and his airplane are put to a test of maximum performance.

Re: Are the Americans coming!!
Then why has RIAT put it under the USN on there website ? Yes it will be A pilot from Boeing flying the aircraft but it's a USN aircraft. So if the USN wasn't confirmed they Should have it under Civilian no ?

Squadron; "Boeing".stealth1234 wrote:Then why has RIAT put it under the USN on there website ? Yes it will be A pilot from Boeing flying the aircraft but it's a USN aircraft. So if the USN wasn't confirmed they Should have it under Civilian no ?
Yes, it should be under civilian - would you like to let them know or shall I?
Re: Are the Americans coming!!
And flip the argument around when we do post it on the website as "Civilian" ........ChrisGlobe wrote:Squadron; "Boeing".stealth1234 wrote:Then why has RIAT put it under the USN on there website ? It's a US Navy asset that will temporarily be operated by Boeing, it's all very clear so why are we arguing over semantics?
