Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 General Discussion Thread
An awesome update
Really looking forward to the Apache /Wildcat demo
Also looking forward to the Gripen ,German NH-90 demo ( that’s exceptional in my opinion ) hopefully RAF F-35B ,the Italian National Display Team and the Red Arrows ( it’s often my only chance to see them both in the display year )
Static wise the (given all that is going on now hopefully) Qatari C-17 ( fingers crossed the pretty one ) and their new AH-64E also the German SOF H-145M I’m looking forward to seeing to ,only seen it briefly at RIAT a couple of years back
Should be a brilliant week.
I forgot also looking forward to the German A-400M demo that was really really good last time.
And any A-400 we get into static ,I absolutely love the A-400M

Definitely a good update, but with the situation in the Middle East becoming more intense, we may lose some of the participants from that that region, I hope not but one must face reality.

Indeed that is why I have edited it slightly to now include a hopefully rather than a definite given world events right now

Interesting comment from this weeks update;
"We still have a number of flying display participants who we're awaiting to get the final paperwork in place, ready for the show in July, and we expect to be announcing them over the next three Thursdays right up to RIAT25!".
if these will be fresh announcements, the only countries left to firm up are the Italian Army and the various arms of the USAF.
I still think that it's a good show considering the commitments elsewhere and can only agree with other comments that we should be grateful that a show of this size is still achievable every year.

Is it possible, theoretically, that if there is hardware deployed to ffd, that it could make some appearance, possibly flypast.
It's the longest of long shots but you never know?

Aren't the USAF updates more or less the last ones for the show anyway? The Riat team did say a few weeks ago that they have spoken to various Units from the US but won't comfirm until near the show.

If there is any hardware deployed to FFD(I’m assuming you mean in connection with current ME events), you are very unlikely to be there for RIAT.
I think Diego Garcia would be first choice for any hardware this time round but they could open up two fronts like they did for Desert Storm attacking from the East and the West.

If B-1 B-2 or B-52s get deployed to Fairford then there won't be RIAT.... Full stop.RunAndBreak wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 7:40 pmIs it possible, theoretically, that if there is hardware deployed to ffd, that it could make some appearance, possibly flypast.

Luckily way back in 1999, Allied Force ops over Serbia finished before the airshow. For those that remember how good that one turned out in the end....

Mr Knight is having an enforced break from the forum again (i'm sure he's reading this.. Naughty boy you won't learn). I was in bed, just finished my 6th, 12 hour night shift

What you didn't set an alarm for the update...Gary wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 11:42 pmMr Knight is having an enforced break from the forum again (i'm sure he's reading this.. The Army Air Corp demo is interesting addition too. Guessing Apache demo with an added Wildcat doing the spotting

PakAF JF-17’s were rumoured to be taking part in Anatolian Eagle but now cancelled according to various reports. Maybe this has led to the rumours for RIAT?
Sorry should’ve read the link first before replying
I would’ve thought any info from Alan Warnes, would be more than credible.

If that's true then DBH have a new favourite individual...
Bit strange that they cancel sending half a squadron within a few hours of flying time, but are happy to send a couple of airframes the other side of Europe on a non Farnborough year. Hmmmmm. Ignoring the fact they didn't do Paris-though there may be political reasons for that.
Then there's the wee issue that they've threatened to nuke Israel in defence of Iran, so....
Still, if it does turn out to be the case, RIAT is saved!

Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 General Discussion Thread
This is pure speculation based off hope and not grounded in reality, but with the rumours swirling that the F-22s which landed at lakenheath last night are potentially staying for a while, and RIAT less than a month away, is there a possibility of a flypast or static display? It would make up for everything else if so. Also just my uniformed take on this supposed bombshell announcement, the theme is ISTAR and there’s been very little talk of the RAF’s new ISTAR aircraft the E-7 which has made its first few flights this year, could that come and maybe do a flypast with the reds or something?

Wow that’s some wishful thinking above, you might wanna check the latest update!
Re: Royal International Air Tattoo 2025 General Discussion Thread
RIAT UPDATE
This week, we’re pleased to announce two more additions to the flying display for RIAT25! Plus, an assortment of commercial aircraft joining our static displays.
SAAB will be returning to RIAT with their Gripen E to display on all three days of the show. Their display won the Paul Bowen Trophy for Best Solo Jet Demonstration at RIAT23, so we’re looking forward to seeing what they bring this year!
We are excited to welcome the world’s only airworthy FIAT G.91 to RIAT25! To mark the 65th anniversary of the Frecce Tricolori, it will be part of a special tribute to the past, present, and future of the Italian Air Force’s aerobatic team. We also add a pair of Aermacchi MB-326 aircraft to join the static display.
Plus, we have more aircraft on the ground as part of our ‘Eyes in the Skies’ theme, including a pair of King Airs from Flight Precision Ltd and Metrea – who are also bringing their new Dash 8 Fireswift, which we are very excited to see. More additions to the static line up include a CASA C-295M from the Spanish Air and Space Force, a privately owned IAR-823, and Twin Otter from De Havilland Canada.
