I agree.better safe than sorry. but that's all well and good if they are going to open the gates earlier. if not its gonna cause problems.

Nobody said there would be one? They said last week they've done the announcements.

Best update is no update to the cancellations

I said that to my Dad this morning, why not open a bit earlier as flying can often be quite early on?

The FIRAT enclosure opens the same time as the Blue entrance gates - 0730. Why not have the gates open at 0700, let people in earlier and then open the enclosure?

I know though, it isn't just as simple as that.

You'd need twice as many volunteers due to the working hours, even for just an extra 30 minutes or an hour, as you'd have to break into additional shifts.

Just cast your mind back to those good old days, when they introduced bag checking before. This led to long queues and many unhappy punters.

Keep calm and enjoy the day.

Earlier access was asked about at friat forum and this was the reply
This is a question that is asked each year at the Forum and unfortunately the answer remains the same. We are unable to allow any members of the public onto the showground until all vehicle movements have ceased due to restrictions from the local authority so early access for FRIAT members is not possible.

Rumours of an update tomorrow, even though they said last week was the last.

See what happens.

I think it was the last “flying” update, so maybe a few more statics.

I suppose yes it could be more statics/flypast announcements? I'd love to know if the "flypast" B-52 will be based from FFD, or doing 2 x GPM (thinking to the B-2). Would be awesome seeing that take off and land with the chute twice!

Do we know which day the German/Italian Tornados, Spanish Harriers & Greek Phantoms arrive yet please? I guess its probably too early yet., I'm hoping they all come in on the same day , that would be nice!! 😊

No and going by previous years we usually don't know until the actual day of their arrival.

I think you'll have seen Friday due to RIAT themselves stating what will arrive on the Friday :)

That's true, I always thought a member on here that I think works in ATC at Brize usually posts flight plans for arrival days a day or 2 in advance?
