Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
I cant believe my eyes,Its once a year, the only true airshow in the uk.The cost of a ticket is excellent for an 8 hour display and full static . Think how much a night out costs,or a football match which is only 90 minutes. Nothing else compares in my opinion, if fast jets are your thing RIAT is the best.
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Just my perspective, I have been attending the air tattoo since the Greenham Common days.
I’m not going to go through the participants line by line, but there is a distinct lack of fast jest versus the excellent mix of typhoons last year, Gripens and F16’s.
The price of the tickets, just my perspective too, it has become an horrifically commercialised event. And I much preferred it when the USAF had more control.
And it is in that regard going back to the original point of this post. My wish list would be for more participation from the USA F, any of the demo teams, or even the blue angels would be excellent for next year.
However, im well aware the air forces have a job to do, and airshows like this a very much a publicity event, to build in foster links with the public.
But also, in that regard, I am a paying customer. And there’s not much point paying all that money to see something I’ve already seen, or be in an environment that is a shadow of its former self.
The pennies will be spent on going abroad to watch airshows next year.

Hoping that the July 4th update will yield US air national guard tankers.

With all those aircraft already in Europe for Air Defender, perhaps we could get lucky?
That said, looking at todays update there is a pretty impressive list ther, as long as it all turns up!

As nice as it would be I believe the Super Hornets have already departed back to the Med and the A-10's are going for a stop off at Prestwick tomorrow before heading home. I'm not sure about the Eagles and Vipers.Vulture 01 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 3:43 pmWith all those aircraft already in Europe for Air Defender, perhaps we could get lucky?

Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
If Air Defender ended in three weeks time, I'd say there was a faint chance. But sadly, it ends today, and military assets don't just sit around for three weeks on a foreign airbase waiting for an airshow....Vulture 01 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 22, 2023 3:43 pmWith all those aircraft already in Europe for Air Defender, perhaps we could get lucky?

This is a wishlist topic - the limitations of reality need not be taken into consideration...!

Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
I reckon it's looking good
Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Soo - Two "MA" F-15C's in Mildenhall, Two "VT" F-35A's and two "MO" F-15E's in Lakenheath, Still two A10's in Prestwick? and at least one "SD" F-16 in Spang?
Well - it is a wish list!

Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
Wishing for an update tomorrow with some more tankers on static as the cherry on the cake. However the line up is still amazing and I am looking forward to the show.

Re: RIAT 2023 wish list
There is a bit of confusion over that. One post said final flying update and the FB said final aircraft update. This is the website updateJames Cutting wrote: ↑Wed Jul 05, 2023 6:17 pmThey've announced all their updates as they said last week?
Facebook however said thisWith the show getting closer, today we announce the final additions to our RIAT 2023 flying displays

It’s been a fantastic few weeks of Announcements in the run up to RIAT23, but alas all good things must come to an end. So here we go, our final aircraft announcement...
