Vulcan Depature time ?

Post by Tiger 1 » Sat Aug 31, 2013 8:59 am

Hi everyone

Can anyone advise me of the departure time from DSA for the display at Ryl today, I know she is down to display at 16.47pm so I can make an educated guess, but the info is for a good friend of mine who as not got access to a computer... so a more accurate time would be very helpful for him indeed.

Many thanks in advance for your help from both myself and my good friend Baz :thumb: .

Best rgds

She is up and away heading west . I suspect she will fly across country towards the Dee estuary then left along the Welsh coast
Staying quite low at present about 10 miles north of Derby

She's down to display at Bournemouth 16.37,
so expect a time around 15.00+.

Yeah, it would happen on their biggest occasion of the year. Reckon that might be it now for the Vulcan tbh.

Must say the Vulcan as had a very good and busy season,
cannot think of any tech issue that as stopped her
displaying this season?.

I don't think any venue can claim to be the biggest occasion of the year tbh. Do you mean you think it might it for you seeing her this year or wider implications?

No, and actually the good serviceability was what worried me as it ALWAYS breaks sometime or other during the season.

Leuchars must be doubtful now too as last time they had this problem they had to remove the leaking bags and send them off for repair and that's likely to take more than a week.
Also they've already got a shortfall in funding too, so add this costly repair to the mix and things really don't look good for the future.

I'm talking about audience numbers which are huge at Bournemouth and of course the potential for donations from them.
Also it was going to be the much anticipated Heritage flypast with the Sea Vixen, Vulcan, Meteor, Vampire and Hunter all in formation which you have to admit would have been a pretty big event.

She has done extremely well this year, a testament to the crews.

It would appear that the Sea Vixen is also not making an appearance which means the Heritage Flypast will not take place.
