Vulcan flights 2013

Looking at the XH558 twitter page, it seems the aircraft is out of the hangar and fuelled up.
Possible test flight this weekend perhaps?

so the information i was told at a certain base on thrs night by VIP going through a( rear ) crashgate may be true?

Yeah, looks a North/South split weather wise today as it's perfectly clear and sunny down here, but as you say it looks more favourable for them tomorrow.
I notice on the VttS website that they've got an 'Afternoon Tea' event on Sunday but I don't know if that is of any relevance, other than to say it would be a bit boring drinking a cuppa in an empty hangar with a Vulcan sat outside doing nothing.

Yeah, looks a North/South split weather wise today as it's perfectly clear and sunny down here, but as you say it looks more favourable for them tomorrow.

The aircraft is undergoing a before flight check, while the aircrew are planning the sortie

Is it heading north or south? I'm currently stuck in York at work .......... Church Fenton or Elvington would be ideal lol

the info i have is it would be landing at scampton at 3pm not sure if local or zulu time
if it doesnt dont shoot the messenger!! but if it does some credit from someone would be nice for a change! the vulcan is the missing link so to speak at scampton 617 sqn over the past few days

Why would they land there, given that this would be just a test flight and there may be niggles than need sorting?
If it landed at Scampton they'd also need an engineering team in place to meet it. It just doesn't seem to make any sense.
Twitter now saying earliest take-off time now 15.00

thats the info i was given by a vip thurs night as two cars were met at the rear crash gate near the a15 up the back lane and let onto base thought it rather odd going in that way but they did

just been up there not sure on crash cat but two fire engines people in tower and bird wagon been up and down main run way twice,so we shall see

Twitter says they may do a hot crew change later, which would seem to indicate they wont be landing at Scampton.
