Vulcan flights 2013

Post by Hurn » Fri May 17, 2013 5:36 pm

Looking at the XH558 twitter page, it seems the aircraft is out of the hangar and fuelled up.

Possible test flight this weekend perhaps?

Yeah, looks a North/South split weather wise today as it's perfectly clear and sunny down here, but as you say it looks more favourable for them tomorrow.

I notice on the VttS website that they've got an 'Afternoon Tea' event on Sunday but I don't know if that is of any relevance, other than to say it would be a bit boring drinking a cuppa in an empty hangar with a Vulcan sat outside doing nothing. :D

Why would they land there, given that this would be just a test flight and there may be niggles than need sorting?

If it landed at Scampton they'd also need an engineering team in place to meet it. It just doesn't seem to make any sense. :S

Twitter now saying earliest take-off time now 15.00

Twitter says they may do a hot crew change later, which would seem to indicate they wont be landing at Scampton.
