Surprised that no one has mentioned this potential trip around old V-bomber bases on 25 Sep 14 -

Yes, me too. Perhaps it is a relic of the Cold War secrecy?
Great to see that it is due to overfly Kendrew Barracks on it's way north from RAF Wittering. There is now a excellent surface on Thistleton Lane thanks to the Army.
Let's hope for a good turnout

People seem to be more interested in 2 Lancasters than anything else at the moment.
People on barracks have been 'warned' of vehicles around the place on Thursday afternoon beciase of the flypast. Thistleton Road would be best position from what I know.

Tour starts at 1400hrs according to the link in romeo_bravo's post.
If you scroll down the page there is a map offering elapsed time at the different airfields on the route. Hope that you manage to see it/her.

Does anybody know if she is just doing flypast at the bases or will she be doing touch and go's.
Would be nice to see it happen at scampton.

dukesdave, touch and go highly unlikely - think of the cummulative tyre wear and chance of one popping.
I reckon they will all be lovely overshoots with a gentle climbout.

The 'flypast' at Gaydon was certainly a bit more than that. I filmed it from Burton Dassett hills, came in low went over to Wellesbourne and came back for around 6-7 minutes of low passes, wing over and climb out. Very nice despite the wind on the hills, well over 100 people turned up there alone.
Vid up later
Cheers

Not a bad display Andy. Nice to see her coming in from across Rutland Water. The radio was interesting from Wittering, someone (a civvy) wanted spend time over Rutland Water, until they saw the Vulcan!!

Hello "valiant"
Am I the only one not to understand your post? The display over RAF Cottesmore was worth adding a £10 contribution to the fund.
Whatever the reason, it was a great idea and if some bright spark can work out how to obtain cash from the Freebie viewers, it would be wonderful to see it as an annual event.

No you're not. I can't see what he's getting at either. RAF Gaydon was very much part of the V-Force scene so it made perfect sense to go there irrespective of who resides there now. The wing over at RAF Wyton inspired me to make another donation so in that instance their ploy worked.
