There are displays and sightings that come to mind.
In the final weeks of ZH558 the display over Cottesmore, later followed by it flying south over the A1 just east of Cottesmore on it’s last trip.
In 1966 I was returning to Dishforth from a session over the North York Moors when I saw a Vulcan on the runway at RAF Topcliffe.
Moments later Dishforth called to inform me that it was about to begin its take-off roll.
A fascinating couple of minutes followed as it rose up and up passing through my height and up into the blue.
Another flight out of Dishforth/Linton with an instructor this time we received a call from 4 F-4s heading south at low level. We rolled inverted to fly and watched them pass under us.
Great times.
