Abu Dhabi Intl 13-Mar-23

Post by Cavemonster » Fri Mar 24, 2023 6:00 pm

Sat on a hotel balcony at Yas Island a number of interesting aircraft were on short final, various CN-235, C-130, C-17 all of which defied identification. One I'm curious about was an all white CN-235 with just a '0' (zero) on the tail (where the reg normally is for the likely candidates, USAF 66043 etc). I've had a google, can't find anything similar and the UAE examples don't seem to be white. Any ideas?

Any photos of the arrivals or indeed any information about how close the aircraft are to the hotel etc?
Thanks
Mark

Afraid I didn’t have a camera, only mini bins and didn’t take any photos with phone.

We were in the Rotana £90/nt, room with balcony overlooking the F1 circuit with the airport in the distance. Inbounds close to overhead but not visible until abeam hotel. I suggest that the nearby Crowne Plaza as mentioned https://www.spotterguide.net/planespot ... -auh-omaa/ would give a better view.

One C-130 pinged on adsb but during the day we were there, 3 C-130s, 4 CN235, 2 C-17, 1 A330 didn’t.
