Andy,

Only category 1 to 4 have to be between September and November this year, the black and White shot can be from anytime, with the onus being on the editing and not the photo!

Hope that helps,

Steve
Amateur modeller
Canon 7D2, 100-400mm IS L lense, Icom R6 and alot of luck!

The idea basis of the event is not for people to look through their archives for shots that they can fit in with a theme. It is so when people go out they have a challenge to get a particular photo. Otherwise, the word challenge would be a bit obsolete as there is nothing challenging about going "I have to get a head-on shot.. Oh, here's one, right, I'll use that."

As for Category 5 being from any point in time, a black and white conversion is an editing technique which is why it is more difficult to go out looking for a black and white photo. It also means those who don't have as much chance of getting out within the said season have more chance to participate.

It would be appreciated if you took the time to ask why something is the way it is, before jumping on the gun and firing away.

Thanks,
Chris
