Contrails over Carnoustie

Post by Condor68 » Thu Aug 26, 2021 10:25 am

At 11:00 a pair of contrails appeared one heading North turned and headed off to NE just short of the cast the other just headed North on a slightly more west track.Cant see them on FR OR ADSB About 10mins previously another Heavy had been seen heading North at a lower level.Couldnt get a good look at it because of the angle but thought it might be a P8 again nothing on the Fr or ADSB????

This pair perhaps (USAF KC-135 & RAF RC-135), they went over Dundee at 10.00L - is your 11.00 time correct? :- viewtopic.php?f=8&t=209326

Thanks for replying Mike but time was definitely 11 ish.I was just returning from walk and logged on.Probably just a couple civils. Info was handy though as wife pointed out we had seen contrails over Dundee while out walking over the golf course.I had forgotten as too busy dodging wayward golf shots.

It looks like you saw the pair of B-2s at 11.00, have a look at Col Nago's post here :- viewtopic.php?f=8&t=209337&p=1330681#p1330681
One came in off the Firth of Forth and another looked to have taken the route up the East side of the country via Leuchars, where they met and both turned NW. This was at approx. 11.00. Nice short trails and a bit of banking left and right which was fun to watch!
Unfortunately I don't think anyone has the serials for these as there are 3 of them operating out of Keflavik.
