Phantom front fuselage roadrunner
Please can anyone identify a Phantom front fuselage / cockpit section seen on a trailer / low loader travelling westbound on the A14 between Cambridge and Huntingdon at approximately 6 pm on Friday 10th May 2019? It had RAF 74 Sqn markings and was, ahem, in need of restoration.

XV490 perhaps?

Thanks EGVP, though it appears that XV490 is now in 92 Sqn colours (and restored).

Thanks tommc, the colour scheme and condition match Internet pictures of XT907. Does anyone know if she was dismantled for road transport or scrapped with just the cockpit section saved?

Dismantled, has been at Bentwaters.
Re: Phantom front fuselage roadrunner
Not sure if the rest of the airframe is being scrapped but the cockpit section and tail were purchased by a buyer in the Midlands. The plan is for the cockpit section to become a simulator.Hendon Chipmunk wrote: ↑Sun May 19, 2019 11:50 amThanks tommc, the colour scheme and condition match Internet pictures of XT907. Great knowledge on FC - thank you! Hope the new owner's simulator project is a success.
