F-RAIK

Post by K35R » Wed Feb 11, 2015 10:51 am

I heard F-RAIK identify himself as a French Army aircraft call Stockholm Radio yesterday on 11.345MHz asking for a radio check.
I've done a search on the web but I'm unable to identify the type, anyone know what it is...? Kinda unusual to hear a French Army type call Stockholm Radio...

F-RAIK should be CN235 serial 128/62-IK of the French Air Force, as opposed to Army. F-Mxxx are the army callsigns.

Thanks for the quick reply. Interesting that he did identify himself as French Army and not French Air Force...

You need to remember that in French the Air Force is called L'Armée de L'Air so he may well have been saying French Armée, referring to the Air Force.
