A Mistral class bâtiments de projection et de commandement (amphibious assault ship) was operating off Caen last week. It was carrying 2 x AS532 and 2 x Tigres.
The 2 x Cougars may have come ashore across Omaha Beach at tea-time on Thursday 6th.
Anyone for their identities, or even the identity of the ship (they no longer carry pennant numbers), please?
Freeman

Many thanks for that Paul. Razzer56 also tells me that the ship is very likely to be the L9013 Mistral.

A picture here shows there were at least 3x AS532's on board;

Also note that the carrier moved on to the Baltic Sea and off the coast of Sweden I also logged a Gazelle. So likely below decks there were more helicopters.
