SAS Augusta at Credenhill, Hereford.
Ex-Argentinian Augusta 109 ZE412 is on display on the base and I could see it on satellite images. The base is practically impossible to see into but I managed to glimpse it from the rear from a residential street however I wasn't sure what colour it was and I can find no recent photos of it perhaps not surprisingly. Has it changed out of its original mainly white scheme?
Re: SAS Augusta at Credenhill, Hereford.
You saw it but don't know what colour it was.....
I often walk the public path along part of the boundary here - the A109 is best seen mid winter when the many trees and bushes have no leaves. It was predominantly white last time I stopped to eyeball it.

Yes vegetation prevented me seeing it from the footpath so all I could see was from a long distance back looking through link fencing. cars and trees and it was only just identifiable from the fact I could make out its rotor blades. Hard to see any colour at that distance.

""Ex-Argentinian Augusta 109 ZE412 is on display on the base .............""
Note that ZE412 is not a former Argentinian example.

The A.109 is easily visible from the footpath that runs South of the base.

ZE410 and ZE411 were the two ex-Argie ones returned to service by Alan Mann Helicopters at Fairoaks for the AAC, ZE412 and 413 were the new cabs bought when delivered to 7 Regt in 1984/early 1985. All 4 started in standard AMH Yellow/White/Black schemes.
I dont exactly recall when they went a bit mad in the paint shop and adopted different colours schemes, but my recollection is that ZE412 was only ever the Yellow AMH then the White & Red/Blue flash. In saying that, it would have mostly likely been 412 or 413 that was rumoured to have become temporarily desert pink at one stage for an 'overseas deployment'. The scheme used by ZE413 became the favoured template upon which the AS365s 'Blue Thinder' colours were then based upon.

I have individual photos of them taken at Shawbury.
Later as you say the individual schemes appeared.

Thanks for the update Arthur. Were they all in the same scheme as ZE413 (dark Blue/Whte/Red trim)?Arthur Tee wrote: ↑Sun Jul 16, 2023 9:10 amThey ALL wore blue and white schemes at one point.

No - they were just a basic white scheme with dark blue cheats. The serials were presented in black on the blue cheat - and therefore very difficult to read!
I’ve not got a current photo bucket account - but I’m happy to email shots to someone that has if that helps?
