Yesterday Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire launched a Time Capsule Competition for schools and young people groups.
It may give aviation groups in Lincolnshire the chance to get their children’s or grandchildren’s school to get involved. If anyone would like more detail please PM me with an email address and I’ll send something through.
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Below is the latest news release from AHL abouth the Loans Boxes that are available from the aviation sites:
" TAKE FLIGHT
Loan Boxes available from the aviation sites
Now that the post-Christmas half-term has been completed, Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire (AHL) is keen to remind schools and other interested local organisations about the availability of Loans Boxes, which are available for free utilisation if booked in advance.
These Loans Boxes, which can be booked through each site relate to the object handling activities of the TAKE FLIGHT educational resource package. Each Loans Box has bespoke contents that relate to the individual aviation site and the contents have been carefully selected to support and enhance any educational visit to the site.
Further details about the Loans Boxes can be found by following the Schools & Education Link on the Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire (AHL) website at http://www.aviationheritagelincolnshire.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The whole TAKE FLIGHT education resource is designed to highlight Lincolnshire's aviation heritage to young people across the county and throughout the UK; encouraging school visits to the county’s nine venues in the unique AHL partnership and providing direct access to a host of new educational resources.
The main themes for TAKE FLIGHT are: Science of Aviation; The Home Front and Bomber Command. Each venue has bespoke resources for use with young people at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3; plus extensive Teacher’s Notes and details about how to plan a visit to the venue.
AHL is funded by a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) award of £436,000 and AHL’s remit is to work with various venues to raise the profile of aviation heritage in the county, and promote aviation within schools and colleges. TAKE FLIGHT focuses on Science, History, English, Art & Design and ICT; and features embedded literacy and numeracy activities.
“The Loan Boxes allow object handling sessions to be carried out prior to an education visit.” commented Dave Harrigan AHL’s Outreach and Learning Officer, he concluded. “The objects in each Loans Box will enable young people to develop their knowledge and understanding of aviation events in an interesting and structured manner.” "

Following the article in last Saturdays Daily mail on Bomber Command, I've since found that the IBCC (around the new memorial at Lincoln) run various events & talks.
