Yesterday saw the official opening of the RAF Coltishall Heritage Centre, marked by a series of fly pasts by a Hurricane and Spitfire of the BBMF, both were piloted by ex Colt Jag Mates namely Gp Cpt Matt Peterson and Sqdn Ldr Mark ( Disco ) Discombe. The Centre, housed in the former Guardroom will be open to visitors every Thursday and Sunday from 10:00 to 16:00 til the end of October.

Sounds good, must try and get there at some time (along with lots of other places!). These places are always worth visiting and supporting, having visited several in the past.

Thanks for the info and advice.
I must go some day soon, to refresh my memories of my stay there at an Air Cadet camp.

Plus 1 for a visit soon. Colt was my first proper spotting airfield, great little wooden fence down the 22 end and Hercules the horse wandering round in his own field

There's also a section at the Radar Museum at Neatishead on Coltishall's history.
I know because they've got a load of my models in here!

They have indeed - visited there a few weeks back and took great pleasure seeing those. Great place to visit.

Me too. I was there in 76, tented camp in that heatwave, we struck camp. That was hard work.
