RAF Scampton after 2019
RAF Scampton after 2019
Any ideas on what will happen to Scampton when the Red Arrows and Hawker Hunter Aviation leave?
Re: RAF Scampton after 2019
Will go the same way as several other former expansion period airfields such as RAF Binbrook, West Raynham, Coltishall, Upwood, Watton Newton etc.
Airfield returned to farmland, most runways, taxiways removed over a period of years. Buildings within the technical site either reused for light industry and business, demolished and some new box light new houses built on part of the site.
Re: RAF Scampton after 2019
Sad but true. It could be a fantastic visitor centre/aviation experience funded by European investment..oh, hold on...

No such thing as "European investment".... the EU gives us nothing, because every penny they distribute originated in Westminster.
Re: RAF Scampton after 2019
The system is that the UK & NI give the EU lots of money, but they return a fraction of it back to the UK & NI. Sounds a bad deal to me, but what do I know!
