Our Nottinghamshire - Aviation History

Post by NAM Updater » Wed Dec 10, 2014 9:57 am

During the last month or so the museum has been contributing some online aviation content to the Our Nottinghamshire local history website; the aviation section can be found via this weblink:

At the moment this features airfields in the county and gradually it may expand to include other items; yesterday a piece was added about RAF Newark (58 MU) - I hope that some of you might find it of interest.

Howard, with regards to aircraft operated RAF Syerston was the initial home to the Venture T Mk 2, plus, can 644 VGS be added to the list of squadrons (the current "paused" active unit).

Hi there Venture Flight and thank you for the feedback. I'll get this updated sometime, but unfortunately the data input system that the site uses means that once posted a listing can only be amended by asking the site administrator to take down the listing so it can be modified.

I will try to get this done asap, but last time it took more than a week to get alts made to Hucknall and Newton - so please don't hold your breath!

I'm currently working on an entry for a village just across the river from Syerston, which should hopefully go live before the weekend! :thumb:
