Re: Airfield/village Memorials
Spent about 65 0f my soon to be 72 years in Carnoustie area and never noticed a memorial in the local Shanwell cemetery. It is a shoulder high stone with a plaque in remembrance of 7 members of the United Free Church who did not return from the 1914-18 war.Its part of a circular formation of graves close to the entrance.Only saw it last week cant believe I missed it.
Re: Airfield/village Memorials
It's easily done Condor I want to give father in law's headstone a clean and noticed one on a family plot to a West Indian fighter pilot who was lost while ops with 602Sqn
Re: Airfield/village Memorials
Dont know if this has been on but just off the northbound carriageway of the Dundee -Aberdeen dual carraigeway at the junctiom for Marykirk and Fettercairn there is a lay bye with quite an impressive wee monument to the men of the area who fell.
