Runway....R31/13

Post by steve149c » Thu Nov 08, 2012 11:01 am

Hi all,

Rumours starting to spread locally about the main runway at Valley being dig down to the core and relaid. My guess for that kind of work is 2-3 months.

So will the hawks operate from 19/01? Or will they detach elsewhere? I think they will operate R19 for those months, as prevailing wind is SW!

Cheers

T2's will use the shorter runway, but I expect they will be carrying very little in the way of stores.
Why no stores? I photographed T2's using 01 in 2010 and they had a centre line tank and wing tip aqui rounds fitted.
Going back a few years (20 actually, can't believe it's that long ago :O ) Tornado F3's on MPC used 19 for the whole duration of their two week stay with no problems. Damn noisey on Gos line though!

I remember the main runway being done, approx 92/93? But I think that time was only surface Tarmac as it took a couple of weeks?
