Not many, only the odd one or two, appear to do approaches to Valley now. I remember when the F-111E/Fs were almost daily through there, in pairs alot of time with an occasional AR Tomb thrown in for good measure..those were the days my friend...
Re: WILD51
seen many images of the F-111's in Valley and i can only be jealous of not ever seeing one in person. Do you live local to Valley?Tarnished1 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 8:42 amNot many, only the odd one or two, appear to do approaches to Valley now. Not any more but my Mam still lives on outskirts of Holyhead (Llaingoch) so if I'm over there visiting...my late Dad once got so fed up of the F-111s coming around and around on right hand circuits to rwy 14 (as it was then now 13) from Holyhead mountain direction, he got a local tel number for ATC (alot easier them days), to "voice his displeasure" at all the noise. He was working nights alot and needed his beauty sleep!! Not sure if this had any effect though as NATO mission training more important...Generally they did just the one approach and if from rwy 32 direction (as it was then) headed of to Jurby Range on IoM as part of their round robin of the UK.
