New Gate Guard at Valley
If all goes to plan Hawk T.1 XX156 will be installed on the gate tomorrow. It will be on a plinth in a similar pose to the one at BAe Brough. The official unveiling will be next month.
Contrary to the information in the latest Wrecks and Relics, the aircraft has not been on display within the base.

Interesting, thank you.
Any idea where XX156 has come from?
Also, has the Hunter been removed?

Re: New Gate Guard at Valley
XX156 has been in storage here as the prospective gate guard for the last couple of years at least. It has only been worked on an opportunity basis. The push to get it finished only came at the start of this month as manpower became available.
The Hunter is still on the island at the transport museum near Newborough
