On what do you base this information?

I am attending the on base 208 day, and as far as I am aware it is a GO

Runway maintenance is for 13/31 and will take 9-12 months

Jets will get airborne from runway 19/01, until August when fixed wing flying will cease for a few weeks whilst they do the intersection

They are still inviting ex-Squadron personnel to the event via their Facebook page?
Can't see any mention of it being their last flying day though, just that the event is to celebrate their 100 year anniversary and a course graduation.....

So, to clarify, will 13/31 likely be u/s on 1st April? Thanks for the information btw, very much appreciated.

Hi Thunderbolt

Yes I believe 13/31 will be out of action. But I am currently in Spain and cannot give you 100% defiante on that. Worst case it's out for maintenance (haven't seen a Notam yet), best case it is operational.

I will be home in a week and try and find out for you

Steve

208 was due to disband several years ago. it gained a small stay of execution however that is now up. Thats the word on the street anyway. :(

Weather is going to be dry but windy

Rumours are a couple of visiting jets, but the actual 'static' line is around on the 208/IV dispersal

Aircraft for PD request and fly through as normal for any stand down ceremony

Winds may well stop the formation flypast as predicted to be 35 knot plus gusts

Shame today's weather isn't tomorrow

How did it go? Given the weather I didn't risk driving from Nottingham, hope those who went were rewarded?
Cheers
