Is that a confirmed serial for the Tornado on the 8th? It diverted in from Aberporth with a misfire missile as Gauntlet 15

hi Apgphoto,
Yes definate, it was ZE203, think the previous entry was typo for the serial for tornado on the 8th. I got photos of it landing! Have a look at valley aviation forum, its all on there.

Apologies, the F.3 was ZE203 (I even had that scribbled down  ). I don't know when it left.

As for this week....

Monday 12th XX217 Hawk T.1 FRADU (nightstop)
Tuesday 13th DHFS Squirrels ZJ244/48/49/54 operating from SARTU but by Thursday they had moved over to VAS
Wednesday 14th VIP visit by a senior RAF person saw him arrive in King Air G-RAFD and depart later in G-RAFX. Also visiting were ZF341 Tucano, XX301 FRADU Hawk T.1, ZD279 Lynx AH.7 and Sea King HAR.2 ZA105/Q
Thursday 15th XX280/CM 100 squ Hawk T.1, Lynx AH.7XZ680/E and a Typhoon was noted in the circuit about 5pm

That's about it from me...additions and corrections to my eyesight/dyslexsic typing always welcome !!!

Got a text to say that Tornado left Monday, no timings sorry.

A really busy week on VAS and in the circuit....

Monday 19th.
671squ Lynx AH.7's XZ196/T, ZD272/W, XZ615/Z, XZ661/V, XZ680/E on exercise all week. 2 SeaKing HC4's arrived at 5pm and night-stopped, ZH838/66 Merlin popped in (also Tuesday), Lynx XZ296, 125 ZD704 (also Tuesday), Boscombe Tucano ZF510 (still in r/wh c/s). A Harrier GR7/9 overshot about 5:30pm.

I'm told the Navy visitors were all involved with press & VIP's for HMS Illustrious off Holyhead heading towards Liverpool and the Navy 100 flypast.

Tuesday 20th.
An additional Lynx was noted in a couple of places on the line, "F" being noted at lunchtime.

Wednesday 21st.
Tornado GR4 "129" lunch-stopped, XX280/CM Hawk T.1 100 squ. At 5pm an unpainted Typhoon did a couple of spectacular overshoots.

Thursday 22nd
I just happened to notice an Alphjet through an open door at 9:25 on overshoot. Later, XV104/U 10squ VC-10 did a couple of more stately circuits. 5 HarrierGR.7/7A/9's arrived off Illustrious departing to Cottesmore later - ZD346, ZD348, ZD411, ZD467 leaving ZD431/43A behind u/s. Falcon 20 CM-02 also visited and a guy in the pub said he saw a Nimrod.

Friday 24th.
Only 100 squ special c/s XX283 in today.

only a short week for me this time...

Monday 26th RAFAT Hawks XX260 & XX266
Tuesday 27th 2 more, XX237 & XX260, F-15D "LN 182" 3 x overshoots, ZD406 RN 100 c/s state 2 emergency landing at 4:30-ish. An anonymous Sea King HC4 also night-stopped
Wednesday 28th Hawks XX303 from FRADU and RAFCAM XX162. ZD406 was being worked on and I'm not sure if ZD431 / 43A managed to get away today.

I didn't see a lot this week...

Tuesday 3rd RN Sea KIng "21" (red/grey c/s, possibly XV665 ?) noted until Wednesday on the SAR apron. Possibly connected with the SAR Force conference at the time.
Wednesday 4th 12squ GR4 "083" visited on VAS
Thursday 5th ZF319 Tucano on VAS. (I did hear the Tornado overshooting noted elsewhere but couldn't get away !)
The Navy GR7 is still being worked on in AMRO and visible when the doors are open.

Hi Teeone,

Seaking XV666 [21] departed yesterday (5th) - maybe SAR, but I was thinking it was crew to fix ZD406?
GR4 "083" - using Lossie 1, arrived 0900, departed 1550

That's it as far as I know,

Steve
I'll put photos up later
