Hi All, Anyone able to tie up 6 Buccaneers possibly 12 SQN at Torrejon AB 23/3/1990. MTIA

Can't find anything in 'BAR'.

Are you sure about the date? The reason I ask, is that there is a report in WLAG/SEAR for both the 23/03/1990 and 24/03/1990 and no mention of any RAF Buccaneers, which were not a common site in Spain, that is of course, unless it was your report to SEAR?
Only visitors noted were:
23/03/1990: 2x F-111F 48thTFW 'LN' 70-2396 and 70-2412 marked '493 AMU'
24/03/1990 3x F-15 32ndTFS 'CR' 79-0020, 79-0031 and 80-0010.

Sadly not a good clue but a pal of mine gave me a video titled Buccaneer the last british bomber which had references to a deployment in thet area .Sadly that got binned here but might be on you tube. Dont know if serials are visible but it might be a start.It is in the right time slot I think.

Not sure if this helps, or just adds to the confusion, but I logged 5x Buccaneers on the scanner on the Monday around 3pm (26/3) routing northbound in the Warton area direct Lossie at FL200. Callsign was RFR 24J 3-7 (confirmed on R/T as 5 a/c).

Just had a quick search in the old magazines available in the MSF archive and the WLAG AIR mag for May 1990 lists the following as being seen at Torrejon on 23/3: XT288, XW543, XX889, XX894, XX900 & XZ431 all 12 Sqn

Andrew just as well you didnt need the film I mentioned it.Just watched it on you tube and the film quality is terrible.Lucky to make out the aircraft sometimes .Content is quite good though.
