Hi

Hoping to find someone who was on Globemaster tour to Portugal in April 2000.

Got a few bits still unsure about.

11/4/00 Alverca

Is 6403 Noratlas correct?
How many T37's were visible ? Got 5 numbers listed but put 8 in my notes!

Scrapyard..assumed to be Arranho I have 4 numbers listed 5523(A7), 0097(G91) 460 (G91) 1809 (??) anyone confirm anything on these.

Ogma

1651-32 which i assume is a build number.. no idea
Helicopters listed Alouette 3. H230 (137) Probably should be 5137..now Angola AF
Assuming these numbers are build numbers also 5416,1549,1299,1550... 5416 i've put Gazelle down, other 3 Alouette 3's.
D-HAXW (1594) Puma.. probably French

13/4/00 Sintra

Can anyone confirm these
3357,3480,1769,1774 Do27 & T6's i believe

OTA
2 x F84's I have 5337,5338 is that correct
3301,3304,3489 assumed DO27??
also have a Chipmunk listed as 1517 which doesn't appear to be right.
Does CR-CAL Dove have any military background?

Thanks for reading, any info however small really appreciated.

Andy

I wasn't on the tour, but the Noratlas '6403' was displayed in the museum at Alverca when I visited in 2017. It's really 6405. Unfortunately the museum displays several aircraft in false markings, especially those which are composite airframes.
Sorry I can't help further, but hopefully there are others out there who can.

1651-32 probably full c/n 680FLP-1651-32 Aero Commander 680 CS-ARO - no mil history

Puma D-HAXW c/n 1594 no mil history - went to ZS-RKC

CR-CAL formerly CR-ACL and nothing else.

All credit to Planebase

For Ota 5337 and 8 are F-86’s, 3301 and 4 are Broussards
3489 is a Do27. All from memory but pretty sure.
Cheers

I wasn't on your trip but been out to Portugal on numerous occasions over the years and had some good base tours, as well as tours around OGMA. Anyway your listing, see below for the stuff that hasn't already been answered.

Scrapyard..assumed to be Arranho [correct]

You have a mix of serials and c/n so see below

I have 4 numbers listed 5523(A7) was only really a tail section here

0097(G91)...c/n 0097 was here serial 5461

460 (G91)....c/n 460 was not here but 450 was serial 5465

1809 serial is correct and was scrapped here. anyone confirm anything on these.

Ogma

1651-32 which i assume is a build number.. no idea

OGMA did quite a bit of work for Angola [it being an ex-colony]

Helicopters listed Alouette 3. H-230 (137) Probably should be 5137..H-230 c/n 5137
Assuming these numbers are build numbers also
c/n 5416 IAR.316B [Romanian built AIII] H-224 Angola [now in the Museum at Luanda]

c/n 1549 and c/n 1550 are Netherlands AF Alouette III A-549 and A-550, so I assume there on overhaul.

c/n 1299 Angola AF H-234
D-HAXW (1594) Puma.. probably French

13/4/00 Sintra

Can anyone confirm these

also have a Chipmunk listed as 1517 which doesn't appear to be right. 1517 is a T-6 that as stored at Ota on the time of your visit

Does CR-CAL Dove have any military background?
