Mildenhall July 1989

Post by robert36 » Sun Jul 09, 2023 10:58 am

In July 1989 I visited Mildenhall a few times. I have a few questions about some missing serials. Maybe somebody can help me with these missing serials.

On July 19, 1989 I saw 3 C141's. 2 of them were 38079 and 60131. Anyone know the third C141?

And on July 30, 1989 I saw 4 C141's. 3 of them were 40632, 50218 and 60208. Does anyone happen to know the 4th C141?

While spotting at Lakenheath I saw an E3 landing at Mildenhall on July 18, 1989. Anyone happen to know this serial?

Thanks in advance!
Robert

The problem with confirming the identities of the missing C-141s seen on 19/7 and 30/7 is that they could be a/c that arrived
on those dates or they could be nightstoppers from 18/7 and 29/7 (or longer: see 60208). Those serials in bold are the ones you logged on the dates mentioned; those serials underlined are the C-141s that arrived on the same dates.

According to 'BAR', the following C-141s arrived on 18-19/7: 38079 (18/7), 38090 (18/7), 40623 (18/7), 50217 (19/7), 60131 (18/7), 60136 (18/7) and 60157 (18/7).

The following C-141 arrived on 27-30/7: 40615 (28/7), 40632 (28/7), 40638 (27/7), 40649 (29/7), 50218 (29/7), 50220 (28/7), 50272 (28/7), 50280 (28/7), 60187 (28/7), 60208 (27/7) and 70002 (30/7) and 70024 (28/7).

As for the E-3A on 18/7, that was LX-N90444.
