F-111 crash Cowden Range 1991 (?)

Can anyone help with any info on this crash. Fairly sure it happened in '91. We were on holiday just up the coast in Brid at the time and saw the report on the local TV news but I've trawled the web for info w/out success. Sure someone on here will know.

The nearest I can get is F-111E 68-0001 which crashed on the Wainfleet range on 5/2/1990.

This was definitely during the summer hols because otherwise we would nt have been there (possibly August). As I recall it was a UH one.

I’ve gone through the Scramble site and issues of BARG but neither show the loss of a UH F-111 on the Cowden range.

Aviation Safety Net which is pretty comprehensive doesn’t show a loss over here in 1991.

The only one I can find on Air safety net was on July 24th 1979 when 68-0042 from Upper Heyford crashed in the North Sea off Tunstall , unfortunately with the loss of both crew . Mike

This could well be it as we'd likely have been there then with it being in the School hols altho' I think it's maybe a decade too early. I don't know where Tunstall is but I'll get the map out. Thanks anyway. Most promising lead I've had.

Tunstall is just north of Withernsea , at that time we had a caravan there and I remember people on the site telling me about the crash. Mike

Looking through some old books, Military Aircraft serials of North America 1991 shows 68-0066 UH written off 20-07-1990. Although it doesn’t state where.

68-0066 was w/o at Incirlik, Turkey.
