233OCU/Wittering Harriers in 1978
I seem to have a missing Harrier GR3 in my log - seen at Wittering coded "L" on 17 July 1978 marked as 233OCU. On the same day GR3s "F","G","K" were also noted with 233OCU and I got the s/ns of those. My research has so far found XW921/L in 1983 and XZ972/L in February 1982 (this latter was shot down in the Flaklands in May 1982) but nothing earlier. Anyone got any thoughts?

undergone a recoding exercise from two-number codes to single-letter codes.

XV807 L is also reported in the Eric Chapman logs at Wittering on 19/05/1978, therefore your sighting falls between two confirmed observations.
