Leuchars Air Show 1967
This is a longshot....
I noted in my log that there were 4 x Danish AF F-100s at the BoB Air Show at Leuchars on 16/9/67 but no serials or any other details. I assume they were a flypast otherwise I would have got the serials. Anyone have any details?

Are you sure about the year, as there were 4 in the flying display in 1965 (I think there was 1 on static as well). https://www.scramble.nl/database/show-r ... chars-1965

Re: Leuchars Air Show 1967
In the days of the traditional BoB shows back then, there would be touring display aircraft. They might operate from one of the many bases that were open then and do flypasts at various bases. I do remember going to a Biggin Hill display in the late 1960s and a formation of Danish RF-84Fs performed a flypast, I think they may have been operating from Coltishall.

It was the 1965 show, held on 18/9. The reference source I have has the four-ship as F-100Ds G-764, G-768, G-775 and G-776 (either Esk 725 or Esk 727; or possibly a mix from both squadrons?), with two-seater F-100F GT-982 in the Static display.fatherfaff wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 3:58 pmThis is a longshot....

Can't remember now which 60's show, but the USAF were infamous for providing a four-ship for a flypast, but coming in off the North Sea and usually being a couple of miles to the south so all we saw was 4 dots in the distance. One of those times it was F-100's

Are you insinuating that the USAF have made the occasional navigational error when appearing at UK air shows, Lorence?eLaReF wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 5:54 pmCan't remember now which 60's show, but the USAF were infamous for providing a four-ship for a flypast, but coming in off the North Sea and usually being a couple of miles to the south so all we saw was 4 dots in the distance. I think someone could actually write a book on some of their more famous ones!

While I'm at the 1967 air show I have a record of a C-47 42-93807. Was there another C-47 about?
Re: Leuchars Air Show 1967
Correct, but the serial written on the tail was 0-93807 :- https://www.scramble.nl/database/show-r ... chars-1967
