Back in the spotting game after a long absence I am checking through old logs - here are some interesting overflies around Edinburgh - any confirmation or missing info welcome! I may have got some info from the radio or Scotland Scanned/SCAN
29/4/77 1317 Thought to be a Breguet SP-13 Atlantic Heading south-easterly towards Newcastle. Noted the letters "P" and "TG" but that means nothing to me
22/5/77 1652 Thought to be a Convair CV-990, local spotter Sandy Watt reckoned it was N990E at the time. Heading northerly
27/5/77 1155 Thought to be Boeing 707 10+02 "GAF1002" heading northerly.
28/5/77 1907 4 x A-$s heading apparently to Bentwaters. Delivery for Kuwaiti AF thought to be 160188, 189, 190 & 191
28/5/77 2023 Falcon 39 heading south, thought to be F-WAMD
30/5/77 1145 3 x EB-57Es(?) heading in formation northerly. Grey colours with dayglo red wingtips/tails
While I'm here are there any online sources or databases of aircraft movements from the 70s and 80s?
Did you know that registration to Fighter Control is completely free and brings you lots of added features? Find out more....

Five EB-57Es of the 17th DSES/Kansas ANG (54278, 54280, 54287, 54290 and 54292) deployed to Bentwaters on 14/4 to take part in Exercise 'Dawn Patrol' with the 81st TFW. Unfortunately 'BAR' does not have any info for their departure from Bentwaters, which presumably was on 30/5, two C-141As having arrived on 29/5 to act as support.
