Paris Le Bourget 1965

Post by R1nger » Wed Apr 07, 2021 11:04 pm

Does anyone have a full log for this show please? I have many of the registrations but am missing some especially the civil stuff such as the Finnair Caravelle and the Russian helis. The serial that I have for the Tu134 seems to be wrong (CCCP-45876). I have a code of 'F' for one of the Super Frelon but not the one with the white top. Any help appreciated.

I have looked through BAR/BARG, SEAR, Southend Aero News & Yorkshire Air News but couldn't find any logs. Scramble.nl starts at 1967.

I did find some photos on various sites that may be of some help to you.

https://www.airhistory.net/event/319/Pa ... -Show-1965

several videos of the show as well but not much help.

hopefully someone else on the forum went and has a log.

Hi Ringer
Looking at the Paris Report (B+W) photos in Air Pictorial for August 1965 (Vol.27 No.8) your TU134 would appear to have been CCCP 45076.
Most of the photograhs show subjects already covered in the links submitted above, but other photos show:
F-ZWWN Aerospatiale SA330 (Puma) Prototype.
OK-TJA Zlin Z-37 Cmelak (Crop sprayer) With F-ZWW_(I orL?) CM170/CM173/Potez 94? Overall silver paint scheme? in the background.
OK-UXA Aero L-29 Delfin described as being "Finished in a striking black, orange and white paint scheme"
XM328 Wessex HAS.3 Royal Navy & Westland titling on Fuselage.
N2096X Wren 460 (based on a Cessna 172-with canards mounted on the engine cowling!
(Possibly?) XS690 (coded 'O') HS Kestrel- Photo showing in flight, but no background to confirm location.
and
F-BKMF HS125 c/n 25007 of Air Affaires. Ex.G-ASTY+HB-VAH. Photo(but no date given) shown taking off from the show. From Air Pictorial P.329 Sept.1965 (Vol.27 No.9)
No show logs though. Sorry there is not any more, but I hope this will be of a little help.
Regards
Oes

The London Amateur Aviation Society (LAAS) did a report on this show for static and flying a/c, so credit to them. Visiting a/c to the show were not included. Unfortunately, due to time, I can only address you're specific requests.

The TU-134 was CCCP-45076, Soviet choppers : Mil-6 CCCP-06174, Mil-8 CCCP-06181, Mil-10 CCCP-041.2 (the 4th number is not legible in the report.)

2 Caravelle's were logged : F-BLKJ and F-BJTR - liveries not given.

Super Frelon's: F-ZWWF and F-ZWWK - no other details.
