Hi,
Is there any chance someone might have a MASDC listing from the 1960/70's?
My oldest one is dated October 1981 and I am trying to trace any H-21 storage activity, either through DM or their adjacent scrapyards? I know that there were some 79 H-21s stored there at 30/06/1966 but I don't have their serials.
A listing of H-21s would suffice rather than providing a complete database.
Many thanks,
Colin

Re: REQ: Old MASDC listing
Try using the following database, it lists quite a few H-21's and is fairly simple to use
http://www.amarcexperience.com/ui/index ... Itemid=220
Type you need to use is Piasecki H-21

Re: REQ: Old MASDC listing
Thanks for that and I have been using this excellent site in my research with the USAF IARCs (Individual Aircraft Record Cards) but I need to see a single listing, if possible, at a particular point in time during any of the years available 1966 thro' to 1980.

Re: REQ: Old MASDC listing
There is a book on MASDC by Phil Chinnery (published in the 1980s) which, if I remember correctly, lists all examples of each type in storage, including each airframe's storage code. I have a copy, though I haven't looed at it for a good few years, but it will be the end of the month before I'm back in the UK and can check its contents - assuming you haven't already seen that publication. Let me know if you want a list of H-21s based on its contents.
Re: REQ: Old MASDC listing
It should be possible to create your own listing from the database as it quotes arrival dates. I spent two days in Tucson on 9/10 October 1976 which included the brilliant day spent in AMARC. I have a complete list for the days and only eight H-21's were noted all in scrap yards. The MASDC book contains reference to 9 actually in AMARC, 1 in Pima Museum, 5 in Allied yard and 5 in Bobs Air Park.
Re: REQ: Old MASDC listing
I've also got MASDC 1
We visited in '74 and took with us 3 lots of faded photocopies of photocopies of photocopies from, I think '72, '73 & earlier in '74.
I scanned those long ago for space reasons & naturally, only about a month ago, deleted the scans!!
E&OE, this is what my current computer log has:-

I say E&OE - I didn't log all of these personally - the whole '74 trip produced a combined log. One person took a list of anything he had found that had gone through MASDC since it's inception and added it as his contribution!!
It has taken me ever since to remove his rubbish.
I also wouldn't guarantee the Yard names - Continually changing, those might be suspect as well!!
The '93 ones may have been around on the earlier trip?

Re: REQ: Old MASDC listing
Many thanks guys - much appreciated.
If you can at some stage provide a listing from MASDC 1 book that would be great.
I hope to extract a listing from my database when it is finally compiled from both the IARCs and that AMARC website.
Thanks for that old log listing and I have noted the E&OE warning!
