RAF Upper Heyford NATO Open Day 1976

Hi all,

Does anyone know the serial of the fourth 81st TFW F-4 that performed a flypast at the above event on 3 July 1976 please?

65-0749/WR McDonnell Douglas F-4D Phantom II 1813 United States Air Force 81TFW
66-7708/WR McDonnell Douglas F-4D Phantom II 2321 United States Air Force 81TFW
66-7751/WR McDonnell Douglas F-4D Phantom II 2392 United States Air Force 81TFW

That one never served with the 81TFW. According to Joe Baugher it crashed near Bayport, Long Island, NY. on April 19, 1968 while assigned to the 479TFW.

Nope, that one never served at Bent/Wood either. At the time it was assigned to the 49thTFW at Holloman.

Afternoon
I also attended this show. I have looked through my original log from the day, and I have the 4th. listed as 66-7615. But It is likely that I got the serial off of someone on my coach-the other F4's in the flypast that I have listed tally with the other 3 listed in EGVP's post.

I've also seen 66-7615 quoted so maybe it is the missing one.
