Nellis AFB - June 2018

Post by TFSeagle13 » Sat Mar 16, 2019 9:57 am

Visited the base on 13th June but heat haze defeated me in trying to read-off most serials. Hope someone can help with 3 x B-52, 3 x B-1 and the F-15E's coded MO. There were a couple of Hercs that I'm not sure of 719 coded FT and 07196 coded ST? and marked ANG. Thanks for any help.

"FT" is 11-5719 HC-130J, 79th Rescue Squadron.

Are you 100% sure about "07196"? Reason I ask is that 90-1796 is an Missouri ANG C-130H, although I don't think it has ever carried a tailcode (but it is based at St. Joseph airport, which may be more than a coincidence?)

I think you are correct Stuart, and the ST wasn't a tail code but the start of the home base name which was displayed on the tail. Many thanks.

It would not have been 90-1796, as that was in the sandpit at the time and did not return until early July (through Shannon).

It would most likely have been 90-1795, which arrived at Nellis on the 9th.
Cheers, Bob
