Biggin Hill 1968

Post by Condor68 » Sun Jan 27, 2019 6:12 pm

I was at Biggin Hill for a course between 16/9/1968 and 18/9/1968 during which period the Red Arrows overnighted.Cant remember which night.I ended up being billeted with one of them.Just wondered if anyone had a record of the aircraft they were using then.

Thanks for any info
Keith

Hi Keith, they had 11 or 12 Gnats in those days, some of the serials were :- XR535, 540, 986, 987, 991, 992, 993, 994, 995 & XS111. (I think they also had XR996 & 997)
I hope that helps in some way. :)

Hi Keith, I've just found this :- https://forum.keypublishing.com/forum/h ... at-serials
It's quite astonishing how many Gnats the Red Arrows got through over the years.
