Old Tie ups

Post by RobertoCFC05 » Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:26 pm

Good evening all

I know this is probably a very long shot, but could anyone place some dates on the following seen in the UK in the late 80's

E-181 f-16 RDAF
79-0010/BT F-15D USAF

and one which I defiately saw Gatwick in either 76 or 77
130329 CC-130 RCAF

Many thanks
Regards
Roberto

I can only help with the Bitburg Eagle - all for Lakenheath:
23/02/1986
17/03/1989
18/03/1989
02/10/1989

CAF Herc and Cosmopolitans were regular visitors to Gatwick at that time so I'd imagine 130329 would have visited several times.

I logged it myself at Gatwick a little later on 7.4.80 - it was w/o in 1982

The BT Eagle displayed at Middle Wallop on 24.7.82, yellow tip

The Danish F-16 was at Brawdy 24.7.91

I logged 130329 at Gatwick on 29 October 1976. As I was working there at the time, I suspect this was first visit.

Thanks, so I assume it was still there the next day being a Saturday?

Thanks for the BT eagle I was a Wallop on that date, so that makes sense, didn't go to Brawdy tho, and I now think I have the Canadian Herc tied up as long as it night stopped on the 29th Oct 76

Very unlikely they were nearly always on a QT, Generally in and out to Lahr.

Hmm That scubs my thoughts then, reason I say this I am certain this was seen on my first visit to LGW back in the 70's

Roberto, regarding the Danish F-16 E-181. Could your sighting have been in the early 1990s? It was in the static at Brize Norton open day 11/07/1992.
