Minsk-Belarus Independence Day Parade 3/7/18

Post by kevinm » Sun Sep 19, 2021 4:48 pm

Good afternoon Everyone,

I visited Minsk back in July 2018. There was limited opportunity for aviation but I did get to watch the Independence Day parade and flypast on 3rd July.

Cameras were not allowed in the parade area so no photos were taken to help me confirm codes and serials. However, there was Belarus TV coverage of the event which was shown again in the evening and also some local media photos on the internet at the time which allowed identification of some of the codes.

The following is a list of what was noted from the above. Confirmation of the codes/serials and/or the gaps would be greatly appreciated. All are Belarus Air Force except those shown as Russian. Many thanks.

While I couldn't find a report of the "show", here's what info I could find from Scramble.nl and info on Jetphotos.com. There are entries for the 2 Russian Su-34's, 45 Red Mig-29 but you can decide on that as it's a little confusing.
Scramble and Jet Photos confirm the existence of the rest of these and even some unit details but no more serials.

Thank you very much, Jaws. That is excellent.
It was only a flypast, there was no show but still a bit of a bonus on a non-spotting trip.
